A Classic Fall Adventure

For starters, be sure to hit the Hayride, S'mores and Pumpkin Patch adventure up at The Stables at French Lick. If you do just one activity during your stay, this is definitely the one to star on your itinerary. It's all the best parts of fall, bundled into one. The kids will eat it up. And it'll bring back memories for the adult kids at heart. Plan a weekend around it – it goes every Thursday and Saturday during October.

Explore More of the Great Outdoors

If your timing's right, you can see the changing canvas of warm fall colors in the Hoosier National Forest. Enjoy the foliage on a horseback ride through the woods, a hike on the resort's 12-mile trail system, a surrey cart ride, or even a horse-drawn carriage ride in the evening.

Really, you could spend all day outdoors here. Adventure-seekers will love the archery range (ages 5 and up) and sporting clays range (ages 13 and up). For something more mellow, try the FootGolf course or head inside for a round of bowling at French Lick Springs Hotel. And if summer's warmth hangs on long enough, the resort's outdoor pools stay open well into October, weather permitting.

Take a Day Trip

You might be surprised how much this little corner of Indiana has to offer. Just in the town of French Lick, you can find an indoor water park, go-karts, mini golf, laser tag, train rides, and an escape room.

Within a 10 to 20-minute drive, you can see grizzly bears, giraffes and other wildlife at Wilstem Wildlife Park; spend a peaceful day on the water at Patoka Lake; or try and solve the fall corn maze at Bledsoe Farms.

Experience all the fall flavor in and around French Lick Resort by heading to frenchlick.com to start planning a fall break adventure.
