Lionfish menace continues | Opinion - South Florida Sun Sentinel - Sun Sentinel

Diving off Philippine Islands in the Pacific, I photographed what they called turkeyfish. In places, these were the only species of fish in abundance. Members of the Scorpaenidae family, these beautiful fish remained perfectly still suspended in the water column, brightly colored red-and-white spines deployed, large mouths poised to devour prey.
