And just like that, we are at the end of February.

Say goodbye to the Month of Love by welcoming in March and Mardi Gras, St. Patrick's Day, National Peanut Butter Lover's Day, International Women's Day and other fun and interesting celebrations.

Check out some of these family friendly events taking place in Greeley, Loveland, Fort Collins and around the region for the week of Feb. 26 to March 4.

Saturday, Feb. 26

1. Pick up some trees and shrubs at the inaugural Arboretum Plant Sale from noon to 2 p.m. at the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens, 710 S. Lions Park Drive. The free event will feature a variety of plants and shrubs for sale that were grown at the botanical gardens. All ages are welcome to attend. For more information, go to https://bit.ly/3IaU4hG.

2. UNC will be hosting Alumni Night for its men's basketball at 6 p.m. at the Bank of Colorado Arena, 270 Alles Drive D, Greeley. Join your fellow Bears to cheer the team on to victory as they take on the Vandals from the University of Idaho. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for youth. 3. In celebration of the nippy weather, head over to the Arvada Winterfest at 11 a.m. at McIlvoy Park, 5750 Upham Street, Arvada. The free event is a multi-cultural celebration that will feature ice sculpting demonstrations, a pet parade, food trucks,  craft vendors and more. The event is open to all ages. 4. Zac's Legacy is hosting Dartin' Around Dart Tournament from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Key Largo Lounge, 3621 W. 10th St., Greeley. The event will feature a blind-draw silent auction along with the darts tournament. All proceeds raised during the event will go to help families battling childhood cancer. 5. Looking for love? Then check out Game of Love Speed Dating at 8 p.m. at Stella's Pinball Arcade and Lounge, 802 9th St. The event will feature five minutes with a number of eligible daters to see if there is a match. If you find a match, Stella's will forward participants emails to each other at the end of the event. The event is open to adults age 18 and older and the cost to attend is $10 per person. 6. Greeley saxophonist Allison Young is scheduled to perform at 7 p.m. at 477 Distilling, 825 9th St., Unit B in Greeley. Spencer Zweifel on keys, Jase Conley on bass and Chris Peters on drums will join Young for a fun evening of jazz. The concert is open to adults age 21 and older and there is no cost for admission. Sunday, Feb. 27

7. Learn about alpacas, the quirky little cousins of lamas and camels at the 2022 Alpaca Extravaganza from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Boulder County Fairgrounds, 9595 Nelson Road, Boulder. The free event will feature vendors, informational classes and the opportunity to visit with alpacas and their owners. All ages are welcome to attend. 8. Kick off the Madi Gras season at The Boot Grill from 2-6 p.m. at 4164 Clydesdale Parkway, Loveland. The family friendly event will feature music, jambalaya, drink specials, beads and more. 9. Spend your Sunday crafting with the kids at the Parent and Child Workshop at 2 p.m. at Board and Brush Fort Collins, 244 N. College Ave, Unit 115. Attendees will select projects from the gallery and using supplies and instruction provided, create amazing works of art to take home. All ages are invited to participate in the event. Tuesday, March 1

10. If you haven't checked out the newly renovated Student Commons building at Aims Community College, now is your chance. The college is hosting a public open house at 11 a.m. at 5401 W. 20th St. with tours of the center, refreshments, live music and a welcoming from the college leaders. 11. The Mardi Gras celebration continues from noon to 10 p.m. at Betta Gumbo, 277 N. Lincoln Ave., Loveland. Join the restaurant for drink specials, live music and more. Reservations are not required and all ages are welcome to attend. For more information, go to www.bettagumbo.com.

12. Great Plates of Downtown begins at 5 p.m. in Fort Collins. The event features a variety of restaurants and eateries in downtown Fort Collins offering $25 meal specials and $2.50 a la carte options. Thursday, March 3

13. The UNC College of Performing and Visual arts is doing a production of "Something Rotten" at 7:30 p.m. at the Langworthy Theatre 1710 9th Ave., Greeley. The comedy features wacky characters, singing and fun dance numbers. The show is rated PG and tickets are $15-$20 per person, depending on seat choice. Friday, March 4

14. The 2022 Northern Colorado Home and Garden Show kicks off at noon at Island Grove Regional Park, 501 N. 14th Ave., Greeley. The show will feature landscapers, home remodeling information, maintenance companies and more from around the Greeley area. Admission and parking are free and the event is open to all ages. 15. Demun Jones along with Longcut and Dusty Leigh will be performing beginning at 7 p.m. at the Moxi Theater, 802 9th St. Jones pulls his musical inspiration from a variety of artists such as The Commodores, Hall and Oates and Smokey Robinson.  Over the years, Jones has worked with numerous artists and producers from around the world. 16. The Outlaw Saloon is hosting Rush Archives tribute band at 7 p.m. at 312 S. Greeley Highway, Cheyenne. The three-piece band will be performing all the best from Rush including "Fly By Night," "Tom Sawyer," "The Trees" and many more. The concert is open to adults age 21 and older.
