Western Town Library to host Utica ZooMobile | Rome Daily Sentinel - Rome Sentinel

WESTERNVILLE — The Western Town Library will host a program with the Utica ZooMobile at the Town Park, 9219 Main St., on Thursday, Aug. 26, at 6:30 p.m. Organizers encourage patrons to bring lawn chairs or blankets for social distancing.

Refreshments will be served after the presentation.

The ZooMobile presentation is an interactive program in which a Utica Zoo educator brings a variety of live animals and discusses related biofacts. The typical ZooMobile presentation features four animals and lasts 30 to 50 minutes.  For the safety of the ambassador animals, participants will not be able to touch mammals, birds, amphibians, or invertebrates. Touching of reptiles may be permitted at the discretion of the educator. Guests will be asked to wear masks when touching reptiles since social distancing cannot be maintained. This program is being funded by donations received from Stewart's Shops.

The Western Town Library is a multipurpose organization dedicated to enriching the lives of community members by providing recreational and educational services. It is an affiliate of the Mid-York Library System which provides support, on-line services and shares the Mid-York catalog of books, magazines and DVDs. The Western Town Library is open from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
