The Hattiesburg Zoo's annual Halloween-themed event, Zoo Boo, begins Friday and runs through Oct. 30 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. each day.

"This annual event has become a Halloween tradition for families, and to see parents creating memorable adventures with their children is really what makes Zoo Boo so special to us," Rick Taylor, executive director of the Hattiesburg Convention Commission, said in a press release.

This event offers a night of spooky decorations, lights, food and family-friendly fun, and guests are encouraged to dress in their favorite costume. Ticket availability is limited for each night to keep with COVID-19 guidelines, and guests must purchase tickets online in advance to attend the event.

Admission is $10 per person and includes unlimited rides on the train and carousel. Children under the age of 2 get in free. The "Ghostly Grill" will be serving all sorts of snacks and spirits, and the "Boos Bar" will serve themed cocktails for those over the age of 21. The High Ropes Adventure Course is offering special rates so all can test their night-climbing skills on the "Tower of Terror."

The Hattiesburg Zoo encourages guests to wear face coverings and social-distancing guidelines will be observed.

Zoo Boo is not a trick-or-treating event and annual passes do not apply. For additional information, call the Hattiesburg Zoo at 601-545-4576, or visit the Hattiesburg Zoo's website.
