Whenever the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission looks for the non-native, invasive New Zealand mudsnail, it finds them in more and more waters across the state.
Until recently, the tiny snails – native to their namesake New Zealand – were known to occur in just four waters in Pennsylvania: Lake Erie, Spring and Bald Eagle creeks, in Centre County, and Little Lehigh Creek in Lehigh and Berks counties.
