The Intercontinental Hotel in Century City is offering special cocktails — a specific creation for each night of Hanukkah. (Kambria Fischer Photography)

Once you've come out of your eggnog and latke stupor, explore the city while everyone else is out of town.

Watch a Swedish vampire flick at the New Beverly, a triple feature fundraiser of twisted Christmas films in Santa Ana, or the Golden Globe-nominated foreign-language films.

Feel like a swim instead? Take a dip in the Pacific (away. from. the. storm. drains).

You can also mingle with flamingos, ice skate outdoors, and celebrate Kwanzaa through dance, music or rap and comedy.

And so much more.
