The following is a list of area cancellations due to concern over the virus COVID-19. This is a work in progress and will be updated daily:

Events

∫ The town of Perth clean-up week scheduled for April 20 to 25 has been postponed until further notice.

∫ The Gloversville Youth Fishing Derby scheduled for April 25 has been postponed. No new date has been announced yet.

∫ The American Association of University Women have canceled the fifth annual Earth Day celebration and renewable resources fair planned for April 25, in the Johnstown.

∫ The second annual WingFest in Amsterdam slated for April 25 has been canceled.

∫ The 43rd annual Swap Shop at the Pine Tree Rifle Club scheduled for April 25 has been postponed. No new date has been announced.

∫ The Fulton County Public Health Department's free rabies clinic scheduled for May 20 has been canceled.

∫ The Mohawk Valley Chorus classics concert has been rescheduled for June 7. The pie sale has been canceled. The Leatherstocking Honor Flight scheduled for April 25, has been canceled.

∫ Placemaking 2020 and dinner have been postponed until June 17 and 18.

∫ The Stratford Seniors have canceled the annual craft fair which was scheduled for July 18.

∫ The Amsterdam Easter-Eggstravaganza postponed and combined with the Halloween event to create the Halloween Spooky Amsterdam Easter Eggstravaganza on Oct. 17.

∫ All events at the Glove Theater have been tentatively suspended until the end of April.

∫ Museum Monday at the Schoharie Crossing has been postponed.

∫ The line dance classes with Sue Kaupelis are suspended until locations reopen.

Banks

∫ Berkshire Bank is closing its branch lobbies to unscheduled walk-in customers. Drive-up service, ATM's, ITMs and scheduled in-person appointments are still available.

∫ Community Bank has closed its lobby until further notice. Drive thru operations and ATM will still be available.

∫ The lobbies of the First Choice Financial Credit Union in both Gloversville and Broadalbin will be closed until further notice. The drive-thru will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Walmart branch will be closed until further notice. ATM's will remain open at all locations.

∫ KeyBank has closed all branch lobbies. Drive-up teller and ATM's remain available. Customers can arrange to make night deposits or access safe deposit boxes by appointment.

Larger businesses

∫ Aldi's stores will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

∫ AutoZone store hours have been temporarily changed.

∫ Dollar General stores will be closing an hour earlier.

∫ Hannaford store hours will temporarily change to 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

∫ The Home Depot will be closing daily at 6 p.m.

∫ Kohls, Marshalls and TJMaxx stores are closed until further notice.

∫ Price Chopper stores will close at 10 p.m. and reopen at 7 a.m.

∫ Stewart's Shops will be limiting promotions and product selection.

∫ Target stores will be closing each day at 9 p.m.

∫ Tractor Supply Company store hours are now to Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. until further notice.

∫ TA Travel Centers have closed fitness centers and driver lounges. Quick-service meals for take-out, showers, restrooms are still open.

∫ Walmart stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. until further notice.

Small/ local businesses

∫ Adventure Books and More in Gloversville is offering appointment times, free shipping and local deliveries at this time.

∫ Benson's Pet Center will be offering curbside pickup. Call (518) 705-4267 to place an order.

∫ Bowman's Market in Gloversville is taking orders for curbside pickup at this time. The new hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

∫ Castiglione Gem Jewelers will be closed until further notice.

∫ Craving Bakery & Cafe will be closed until further notice.

∫ Emotional Outlet in Canajoharie is closed until further notice.

∫ The Fly Shack in Gloversville is operating online or over the phone only currently.

∫ No visitors will be allowed until further notice at the Fulton Montgomery Chamber of Commerce building.

∫ Gamer's Revolt in Fort Plain is closed for walk-ins. Shipping is still available.

∫ The Garden Bug in Amsterdam is closed until further notice.

∫ Harvey's Pet Center's doggy daycare and grooming is closed for now. Store hours have changed to Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Curbside pickup and in store pickup are available. ∫ The Johnstown Moose 1185 and the Gloversville Moose 351 will be closed until further notice.

∫ The Johnstown Movieplex will remain closed until further notice.

∫ Just Because Boutique in Northville will be by appointment only.

∫ Toying Around in Johnstown has opened a walk-up window behind the store for service. Daily hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

∫ LaVilla Dog Works in Johnstown has temporarily closed. Their online store remains open.

∫ Lee's Shops at Wagner Square is closed for walk-ins. Delivery and curbside pick up are available.

∫ McLemon's boutique is temporarily closed. Private shopping times are available.

∫ Miss Blue's Pet Boutique and Puppy Scoops Ice Cream in Amsterdam will be curbside pick up only for the time being.

∫ Mysteries on Main Street will be temporarily shutdown until further notice.

∫ New Paris Shop in Amsterdam is by appointment only.

∫ Palmer Pharmacy will be closed on Sundays until further notice.

∫ Peck's Flowers in Gloversville has temporarily closed.

∫ The Pine Tree Rifle Club's outdoor 200 yard range is open, but not for vehicle use because of the soft ground. All other ranges and the clubhouse remain closed.

∫ Plazas Italian Bistro in Gloversville will be giving away one free loaf of bread to the first 50 customers at the drive-thru window starting at 11 a.m.

∫ Ralph's Tailor Shop is by appointment only at this time.

∫ Sacandaga Dog Supply & Feed Store is doing curbside pick up only at this time.

∫ Sacandaga Flowers is closed for walk-ins, but will be taking orders by phone and internet.

∫ Secondhand Stork in Amsterdam is temporarily closed.

∫ Something Special in Johnstown will be temporarily shutdown.

∫ Stump City Brewing in Gloversville has created an online order form for curbside pickup and too go orders.

∫ Summer's Best Ice Cream in Johnstown is closed until further notice.

∫ The Sunflower Shoppe in Johnstown is closed until further notice.

∫ Vintage Baby LLC. in Gloversville is closed to walk-ins and is by appointment only.

∫ Vishnu Music will be moving to appointment only.

Libraries

∫ The Amsterdam Free Library will be closed until further notice.

∫ The Arkell Museum and Canajoharie Library will be closed until further notice.

∫ Fort Plain Free Library has canceled all on-site groups and programs until further notice.

∫ The Johnstown Public Library is closed until further notice.

∫ The Galway Public Library is closed until further notice.

∫ The Gloversville Public Library will be closed until further notice.

Medical

∫ Hospital visitation has been suspended at this time. Compassionate exemptions are allowed for family members or legal representatives of patients in imminent end-of-life situations. Those patients should speak to their nurse for more information. Any visitors meeting these exceptions must be screened for symptoms [cough, shortness of breath, or fever] or potential exposure to someone with COVID-19 and the duration and number of visits should be minimized.

Municipalities

∫ The city of Amsterdam has extended its declaration of emergency through May 14.

∫ The town of Amsterdam town office building and town garage will be closed to the public and only essential employees will need to report to work as necessary.

∫ The town of Bleecker clean up program scheduled for May 1 to May 3 has been canceled.

∫ The civil office at the Fulton County Sheriff's Office will be closed until further notice. All forms of visitation at the Fulton County Correctional Facility are suspended.

∫ Gloversville City Hall, including City Court, is closed to the public until further notice and all non-essential staff members have been dismissed. Anyone needing assistance with city business can contact the City Clerk's Office where staff will handle requests at (518) 773-4542 or (518) 773-4545.

∫ Gloversville City Transit has suspended regular transit service until further notice. Only scheduled medical trips will continue. The suspension of service will be re-evaluated on a daily basis.

∫ The city of Gloversville Water Department Office will be closed until further notice. Water related emergencies can be called into the office from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday thru Friday at (518) 773-4520. After hours emergencies can be called into the Fulton County Sheriff's Office at (518)736-2100.

∫ Garbage collection in Gloversville will continue as normal, but Wednesday bulk pick-ups are suspended at this time. A limited number of department of public works personnel will be in the office periodically to address key functions. Staff will be available in the event of an emergency or snow/ice event.

∫ A state of emergency has been declared in the city of Johnstown. City hall and the city water department will be closed until further notice.

∫ The Johnstown Town Hall is closed to the public until further notice.

∫ The village and town of Mayfield offices and DPWs will be closed to the public. The municipal building vestibule areas will be open with information and envelopes to utilize the drop box for payment of taxes, water and sewer bills and obtaining other municipal services. Garbage pick up will resume as normal.

∫ All meetings of the Montgomery County Legislature are canceled until further notice. The county planning board has also been canceled for the month of April.

∫ All congregate sites of the Montgomery County Office for the Aging have been closed. Home delivery clients will be receiving a frozen pack of meals for the remainder of the week. Weekly frozen meals will continue to provided until further notice.

∫ The town of Northampton and the village of Northville offices will be closed to the public for now, during regular business hours.

∫ The Perth Town Hall, Community Senior Center, and the town of Perth Highway Garage are closed to the public until further notice. Any business with the town of Perth can be done by mail, e-mail or phone. There is also a drop box on the wall next to the front door.

Non-profits

∫ The Colonial Littler Theater in Johnstown has closed and canceled the remainder of Season 82. Season ticket holders may use their passe for future productions.

∫ The First Presbyterian Church, 54 W. Main St., Broadalbin is canceling worship services and all other church activities until further notice due to the COVID-19 coronavirus.

∫˜The Fulton County Museum will be closed to the public and all programs postponed until further notice.

∫ The Fulton County SPCA will be restricting visitors to by appointment only. Supply donation in-take will temporarily suspended.

∫ The Fulton County YMCA will be pausing normal operations until the state mandate to close gyms is lifted. The childcare program will be restricted to emergency responders and essential employees for the time being. Visit https://www.fultoncountyymca.org/ for more information.

∫ All in person events sponsored by the Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York council have been canceled through April 19.

∫ HealthLink Littauer has canceled all activities through April 30.

∫ The Johnstown Area Community Center is closed until May1 at the earliest. Events that have been canceled due to virus concerns may be rescheduled at a later time.

∫ The Parkinson's Advocacy and Alzheimer's support groups meeting scheduled Thursdays at the Mayfield Presbyterian Church are canceled until June.

∫ All events and classes at the Paul Nigra Center have been canceled through April 17.

∫ The Rob Constantine Recovery Community and Outreach Center is closed until further notice. RCRCOC can be reached through its 24-hour Peer Hotline at (518) 705-4627. Check the Facebook page and website: youreinrecovery.com, for updates.

Senior centers

∫ The Gloversville Senior Center has suspended all activities and meal programs until at least April 20. The food pantry services will still be available. For questions, call (518) 725-0923.

∫ The Johnstown Senior Center will be closed indefinitely.

∫ The Johnstown 50 Plus Club has canceled all events [including raffles] and meeting indefinitely.

∫ The Sacandaga Task Force for Senior Living has suspended all senior programs at the Red Rooster Cafe until at least Sunday. This includes congregate meals, programs and chair yoga.

Senior shopping hours

∫ Dollar General stores are asking all non-senior citizens to avoid shopping in the store during the first hour of operation each day.

∫ Hannaford stores senior shopping hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 6 to 7 a.m.

∫ Price Chopper senior shopping hours are 6 to 7 a.m. each day.

∫ The first hour of each Wednesday are senior hours at Target.

∫ Tops Friendly Markets senior hours are every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 7:30 a.m. The pharmacy will open at 7 a.m. those days.

∫ Seniors can shop from 8 to 9 a.m. each Tuesday at Walgreens.

∫ Walmart senior shopping hours are 6 to 7 a.m., with both the pharmacy and vision center open Until April 28.

Sports

∫ All NYSPHSSA Section 2 scrimmages, non-league and league contests have been suspended until April 19.

∫ The Ainsley's Angels Race 5k in Galway scheduled for April 25 has been canceled.

∫ The GSL Half Marathon scheduled for May 17 has been canceled.

∫ The Johnstown 5K Triple Crown Race series has been canceled.

State mandates

∫ All bowling alleys are closed until further notice.

∫ All fitness centers are closed until further notice.

∫ Golf courses have been deemed non-essential businesses until April 29.

∫ All indoor common portions of retail shopping malls with in excess of 100,000 square feet of retail space are closed until further notice per state order.

∫ All places of "public amusement" indoor and outdoor are closed until further notice including aquariums, zoos, and children's play centers.

∫ All restaurants will be operating as take-out or delivery only until further notice.

∫ All schools, colleges and universities are closed until at least May15.

∫ The state police are suspending employment fingerprinting, along with child safety seat checks at their stations.

∫ Emergency toll procedures are now in effect on the state Thruway. Customers without E-ZPass will need to follow instructions at the booths.

∫ Vehicle safety and emissions inspections set to expire March 31 or later will be extended until further notice.

Moving online

∫ Amazon Prime has is offering some of its children's programing for free during the coronavirus outbreak. Go to Amazon.com for more information.

∫ The Art Box in Canajoharie is hosting weekly live-streamed kids art classes on Facebook.

∫ Audible has made some of its titles available for free during the coronavirus crisis.

∫ Blooming Lotus Yoga and Wellness in Johnstown will be live streaming their classes in a private Facebook group.

∫ Dolly Parton will be reading books live on YouTube at 7 p.m. each Thursday as a part of her Imagination Library.

∫ The Fonda-Fultonville Central School District is offering a "Books with the Braves" series. A bedtime story will be read on the district's Facebook page via Facebook live at 7 p.m. tonight.

∫ The Fulton County Historical Society will be posting an online series about Fulton County's past on its YouTube page.

∫ The Fulton County YMCA is posting fitness videos for members on its Facebook page.

∫ The Gloversville Enlarged School District is offering K-12 science demonstrations on its Facebook page. Families can also go to the Hazzard at Home YouTube page to see science demonstrations by GESD science teacher Jennifer Hazzard.

∫ The Gloversville Public Library is posting virtual story time videos to its Facebook page.

∫ The Greater Johnstown School District is offering a variety of story times on its Facebook and YouTube pages.

∫ Landis Arboretum is creating short educational videos that will be on Facebook.

∫ miSci in Schenectady will be offering a free online educational video series across all their social media channels.

"Pete the Cat" author and illustrator James Dean is hosting a daily noon livestream reading and drawing session for kids on the petethecatofficial Instagram page.

∫ Twelves Green Petals Yoga in Gloversville will be hosting classes online.

Deals for emergency and healthcare workers

∫ Crocs is offering a free pair of shoes for healthcare workers. Go to crocs.com/freeforhealthcare to request a pair. There is a daily limit on the number given. Online lineup starts at noon daily.

∫ Cumberland Farms is offering a free hot or iced coffee of any size to doctors, nurses, paramedics, hospital and medical staff, police officers, firefighters and active military. Be sure to share that you work in one of the these career fields at the start of checkout. One coffee per person, per day limit.
