Aquarium Design Workshop at Lavkush Nagar in Lucknow - Indian Council of Agricultural Research
24th June 2024, Lucknow
ICAR-National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow, in collaboration with Safai Karamchari Andolan and Aquaworld organised a dynamic skill development and input distribution programme at Lavkush Nagar Basti today, under Mission NavShakti of the SCSP sub-plan. The initiative aimed to connect with the beneficiaries of the Scheduled Caste Community, providing a creative studio session on aquarium design for students.
The outreach programme aimed to stimulate creativity and imagination among students by teaching them about aquarium fabrication, highlighting its potential as a hobby, reducing mobile screen time, and potentially generating future business opportunities. The students were provided with essential items such as rechargeable solar light lamps, steel water bottles, sustainable jute bags, and caps to support their studies. These lights were particularly important as many students faced difficulties with unreliable electricity, making it difficult for them to study during power outages. The distribution aimed to create a more supportive learning environment, addressing practical challenges faced by students in their daily lives.
Dr. U.K. Sarkar, Director, ICAR-NBFGR, and other officials were present during the programme.
A total of 60 participants attended the programme.
