It's no secret: some of the best local food can be found on wheels.

What's even better? Chances are good that these eats may come to you, or at least somewhere close.

Here's a look at some of the food trucks that can be found serving in Brunswick, Pender and New Hanover counties.

2 Bros Coastal Cuisine

A local favorite for more than five years, look for sandwiches and wraps, and a menu that changes based on the event.

A&M's Red Food Truck

They like to say they have something for everyone but A & M specializes in sliders and tacos that draw inspiration from American, Mexican and vegan cuisine.

Bahn Sai

Asian fusion with a bit of 80s nostalgia mixed in. Try the Bahn Mi sandwich and ramen bowls.

Bill's Food Truck & Catering

Many locals know the Musser family. They've been in the food business for decades, and are famous for fried chicken and house-smoked pork.

Bill's Brew Food

The folks behind Bill's Brewing Company and Capt'N Bills also have a mobile effort.

Buns in the Sun

This Brunswick County-based business has push carts and a food truck serving hot dogs, sausages, burgers, popcorn chicken, fries and concession snacks.

California Taco

Look for West coast tacos with fresh ingredients, unexpected marinades and huge portions.

It's based in Fayetteville, but does make local stops.

Catch the Food Truck

Chef Keith Rhodes and his team serve up great seafood in the mobile version of the fine-dining Catch restaurant.

CBT Burger 

A Pender County-based truck from chef Bud Taylor, offering his modern take on classic roadside burgers.

Cheesesteak Hustle 

A regional food truck with a menu of cheesesteaks that can be leveled up with fun extras.

Chrome Gnome

The food truck counterpart to Platypus & Gnome in downtown Wilmington, offering a taste of the restaurant menu on the go.

The First Bite

A breakfast-focused truck that serves burritos and massive bacon-egg-cheese sandwiches.

A Wilmington-based business that specializes in smash burgers, fries and homemade sauces.  

Island Squeeze

A mobile food stand with gourmet fresh-squeezed lemonades and juices.

Joe Loves Lobster Rolls

This restaurant in Boiling Spring Lakes started with a retro food trailer serving Maine-style lobster rolls.

Kayla's Kones

Look for novelty ice cream treats like Nutty Buddies and push-ups, as well as hand-dipped ice cream.

La Bella Airosa 

A local favorite for authentic tacos, handmade tortillas, sopas, quesadillas, Mexican street corn and tortas.

Lane's Ferry

After Hurricane Florence destroyed the Pender county restaurant, it's been on the road serving burgers, sandwiches, cheesesteaks and hot dogs.

Lobster Dogs

This food truck chain has a local presence serving lobster rolls and stuffed avocados.

Made in Venezuela

It may be based in Sneads Ferry, but this truck makes frequent stops in the area serving arepas, tequeños, and tres leches cake.

Mommiez

Look for old family recipes for dishes like shredded beef, chicken salads, with other yummy treats.

NachoFalt

This food truck travels all over the the region serving worldly nachos, or versions inspired by different cuisines. 

Nowadays Gourmet Sandwich Bar

Fresh gourmet sammies in a newly renovated 1961 Serro Scotty.

On Thyme Catering

Classic comfort food, from shrimp po'boys and fried fish to wings and burgers.

Papadom's Singing Sangwich Truck

Look for homemade Italian and Latin American Food, from sandwiches to vegan options.

Pepe's Tacos

This Burgaw-based food truck brings authentic tacos, tortas, quesadillas, and burritos to locals.

Poor Piggy's BBQ

Look for low-and-slow hickory smoked barbecue and ribs. This business makes frequent stops on the UNCW campus, and throughout the area. 

Port City Que

A Rocky Point based truck that is often spotted in Burgaw and Castle Hayne serving barbecue and sides like mac-and-cheese and potato salad.

PT's Grille

This local hamburger chain also has a food truck. Make sure you try the grilled chicken sandwich and signature fries.

Salty Sistas Food Truck and Eatery 

This business started as a food truck before also opening as a restaurant in Sneads Ferry. They sometimes makes stops in Pender County.

Soulful Twist

This Wilmington food truck offers soul foods with a twist, from fried chicken and collards to hamburgers and shrimp. 

Southern Roots 

A Holly Ridge-based food truck offering an eclectic menu. Try the coconut shrimp and the apple pie nachos. 

T'Geaux Boys

A local favorite for the authentic Cajun and creole dishes from New Orleans, Louisiana. 

The Hardcore Hippie 

On the way to opening a vegan deli, this food truck serves up a "badass plant-powered" menu.

Trolly Stop Food Truck and Cart 

In addition to the restaurant, you can get your hot dog fix on the go.

Webo's Food Truck & Catering

Chef Hardie Ballard, who goes by the nickname Webo, serves up soul food, Southern specialties and barbecue 

WilmyWoodie 

Wood-fired pizza on a food truck? Yes it's possible with the custom made oven. Look for traditional pies, and gourmet creations.

Wheelz Pizza 

In addition to a storefront, this business has a fleet of trucks to serve up this pizza made on a long-fermented dough.
