Coles Executive General Manager for Fresh Andy Mossop said the supermarket said the offers meant customers could score major savings in time for their Christmas celebrations.

"At Coles, customers buy over 70 per cent more seafood in December compared to any other month so we have a great responsibility in providing the best value and supply across our entire seafood range so more of our customers can celebrate Christmas the Australian way – with an abundance of fresh seafood," he said.

"More than 70 per cent of our customers have told us 'price' is the most important factor when shopping for Christmas products, so we've worked hard with our fantastic partners to provide the best quality, responsibly sourced seafood while keeping prices low as possible."

For the first time, Coles will also be offering large Tasmanian Southern Rock Lobsters at its local Tassie stores at just $48 per lobster – a more affordable option compared with other markets.

"We're delighted to offer ample supply of WA Rock Lobsters at just $22, and for the first time have Southern Rock Lobsters at our Tassie stores, which are internationally regarded as one of, it not the, premium fine dining seafood experiences," Mossop added.

Coles has introduced temporary purchase limits on WA Cooked Rock Lobsters at four per person to help make sure all Coles customers have access to the premium Christmas buy.
