How to celebrate Valentine's Day in Montgomery County: Food ... - Houston Chronicle

As cupid's big day approaches, Montgomery County businesses are offering several tasty — and sometimes quirky — ways to celebrate your main squeeze Feb. 14.

From animal encounters, to special music and divine chocolate, here are five ways to celebrate your love on Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Day Goat Gram

If your Valentine would love a cute cuddle, Conroe's The Learning Zoo is offering Goat Grams on Feb. 14. The Learning Zoo will come to your house for a 20-minute session with a Pygmy Nigerian dwarf goat.

They will also bring a box of chocolates and goat feed. These sessions are available only in The Woodlands and only 22 slots are up for grabs. The experience is $50 and can be purchased at https://bit.ly/3ZYoqx7.

If a Goat Gram isn't in the cards for Feb. 14, The Learning Zoo at 15428 Delores Lane in Conroe, is also hosting a Valentine's Day event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m Feb. 12. The experience includes reptile encounters, a tortoise feeding garden, petting zoo, Valentine's Day card craft and meet and greet pictures with Queen Elsa and her horse. Tickets are $18 and must be purchased in advance at https://bit.ly/3HtlmC0.

The Learning Zoo is an animal experience located on FM 1488 near Texas 242. They offer guided tours, private animal experiences, birthday parties and educational events for students.

They feature a variety of reptiles, tortoises, Pygmy Nigerian dwarf goats, a porcupine, prairie dogs, Kune Kune pigs — a Polynesian breed from New Zealand — and more.

Chocolate Passion

Terry and Zulay Quinn own Conroe's Chocolate Passion chocolate shop.

They advise to plan ahead when planning a sweet treat for your sweetheart.

Zulay, a native of Venezuela, makes handmade chocolates out of Venezuelan Criollo Cacao. They also have a variety of coffees, desserts, smoothies, soups, sandwiches and salads on their lunch menu.

On of their specialties for Valentine's Day is chocolate-covered strawberries but Terry asked that customers place their order at least two days in advance.

Market Street concerts

Couples looking for a lovely way to celebrate Valentine's Day weekend with their sweetheart can attend two concerts in Market Street's Central Park. While there for the music, snap pics at a nearby Valentine's Day photo opp in the park Feb. 11-14.

The Feb. 11 features Divisi Strings in a candelight concert in Market Street's Central Park. The Valentine's Day concert includes jazz from Fahrenheit Duo. Both are from 6 to 8 p.m.

Couples are invited to make a reservation for two at one of Market Street's restaurants bordering Central Park or bring a blanket or lawn chair to and enjoy the concerts.

Swoon over a swan ride

While waiting for dinner at one of the restaurants at The Woodlands Mall, try a ride on one of The Woodlands Waterway swan boats to pass the time.

Swan pedal boats can be reserved for 30 minutes or one hour and fit up to four. Openings are available this Saturday and Sunday.

Check https://rivarowboathouse.com/swans-at-the-mall/ for other available times in February. When the swans aren't on the Waterway, they're housed at the Riva Row Boat House.
