Vehicle crashes into fence outside ZooWorld - WJHG

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - On Tuesday morning, a vehicle crashed into a fence right outside ZooWorld in Panama City Beach. The car went throught the fence near the zoo's pollinator garden.

Zoo workers say the garden was dug up for the winter, and they haven't started replanting for the spring just yet, according to Kayte Hogan, ZooWorld's director.

The driver who hit the fence, a 23-year-old woman from Lynn Haven, had minor injuries, according to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

FHP says the accident happened at 7:21 a.m. Tuesday when she was traveling eastbound on Front Beach Road. She was on the left inside travel lane. Then, an SUV was trying to change lanes into the left lane. The driver who hit the fence overcorrected to avoid an accident. Her vehicle then went into the westbound lanes and hit the fence.

No animals were injured.
