Posted: 13 Feb 2020 12:00 AM PST Last year, we told you about a number of the tenants that will open at American Dream, the giant shopping center and entertainment complex coming to East Rutherford, N.J., an easy day trip or short overnight trip from central Pennsylvania. Officials at this new complex are calling American Dream a lifestyle and retail destination. The three-million-square-foot center is expected to have more than 350 shops, services and amenities. There will also be more than 100 dining and specialty food offerings, including more than 20 full-service restaurants. American Dream officially opened on Oct. 25. So far, only the three-story candy department store It'Sugar has joined the Nickelodeon Universe theme park, the indoor ice skating rink and Big Snow, an indoor ski and snowboard park, as the mall's tenants, according to NJ.com. The Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park, which officials are calling the largest indoor theme park in the western hemisphere, opened on Oct. 25. The park features more than 35 rides, rollercoasters and attractions. American Dream's NHL-regulation size ice rink also opened on Oct. 25. The rink has open skating, figure skating, hockey tournaments and more. Still to come is DreamWorks Water Park, which promises more than 40 water slides and 15 attractions. Officials at American Dream previously announced that most of the stores and restaurants will open in March. But many of the opening dates have been delayed. A spokesperson for the mall this week said that it will have more details about store openings soon. Officials also previously announced that Merlin Entertainments' Sea Life Aquarium, Legoland Discovery Center, CMX Luxury Movie Theater, Kidzania and an observation wheel will be part of the mall. The developer, Triple Five Group, also owns the Mall of America in Minnesota. Officials say the American Dream facility will have high design, ultra-modern interiors juxtaposed with unexpected surprises of city gardens, site specific art, interactive sitting salons and more. Our latest list includes more than 80 tenants based on previous announcements, as well as the list of tenants that have appeared or will appear at the mall's job fairs. Aland The South Korean fashion chain Aland opened its first U.S. store in Brooklyn last year, according to Inside Retail Asia. Aldo Footwear and accessories for men, women and children. American Dream Observation Wheel A 300-foot observation wheel overlooking Manhattan. American Eagle Outfitters Clothing for men and women Angry Birds miniature golf This will be one of two planned mini-golf courses at American Dream, and will be Angry Birds-themed, according to an NJ.com report. The 18-hole indoor course will be inspired by The Angry Birds Movie 2, and take players on an adventure through Bird Island, Pig Island and Eagle Island "with twists and challenges along the way," the report said. Ani Ramen House The ramen and Japanese izakaya restaurant will open at American Dream, according to the North Jersey Record. Arc'teryx Arc'teryx sells outdoor apparel, jackets, packs, and climbing equipment. Aritzia The retailer sells women's clothing and accessories. Asics Footwear for men, women and children. Bath & Body Works The retailer sells fragrance, gifts, and body and bath products Banana Republic Retailer of men's and women's clothing. Big Snow Ski and Snowboard Park A 365 day a year indoor ski and snowboard park. It stands 16-stories tall and spans more than 180,000 square feet. Big Snow offers year-round skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing, alongside indoor snow play and event space. A collection of ski and snowboard retail stores known as "The Shops@Big Snow" will surround the snow park which will offer equipment, accessories and fashion outerwear. Big Snow offers equipment rentals, lessons, a shopping village and a ski lounge. Build-A-Bear Workshop Customers can make their own custom teddy bears. Century 21 Century 21 Department Store, is a fashion retailer for men's, women's and children's apparel, footwear, outerwear, lingerie, accessories, cosmetics and home goods. The store will include 60,000 square feet. Charleys Philly Steaks Fast food chain. Charlotte Russe Apparel retailer. ClimbZone ClimbZone, is a family entertainment and indoor climbing center with dozens of individually themed walls, according to a ROI-NJ report. Collections at American Dream Anchored by a Saks Fifth Avenue and and featuring Hermes, Tiffany & Company, Dolce Gabbana, Moncler, Watches of Switzerland this area is a who's who list of luxury and fashion retailers. CMX Luxury Movie Theatre The movie theater chain has a number of theaters across the country. Last year, the Triple Five Group opened an 872-seat venue with oversized luxurious recliners, digital projection and audio, and a 1,650-square-foot culinary market area at the Mall of America. It also says it will have the world's largest indoor wave pool at 1.5 acres, the longest hydro-magnetic coaster and the tallest indoor body slide at 142 feet with a 50 foot free-fall. Grisini The Grisini Hospitality Group which incorporates Grisini Coffee shop, Food Hall and Market concepts will be opening its first stores, two coffee shops and a European-style food hall at American Dream. Grisini by Chef Marc Murphy is expected to open in 2020 for lunch and dinner. In addition to the food hall, Grisini will also feature a coffee shop, and a marketplace providing retail products and packaged, prepared food for meals on-the-go. H Mart H Mart, an Asian-American market with 61 stores in the United States will open a 35,000-square-foot store and restaurant, according to a report on NJ.com. The location will feature national and international Asian food concepts, an on-site bakery and a stage with live music, craft cocktails, entertainment and weekly events, the report said. H&M Fashion retailer for women, men, teenagers and children. Hermès Hermes sells bags, belts, dishes, scarves, shoes, perfumes, watches, jewelry and clothes. Hollister Co. Apparel retailer for teenagers IT'Sugar It'Sugar opened a candy department store at the property that spans 22,000 square feet over three levels. Upon entering the store, guests are greeted by a 60-foot replica of the Statue of Liberty made entirely from candy. The location features more than 10,000 choices of candy specializing in innovative sweets, fun novelty gifts, and giant candy. Jarana The Peruvian restaurant will open at American Dream. Kidzania KidZania is an interactive education and entertainment center for kids. The 80,000 square foot indoor city provides kids with the opportunity to role-play and explore more than 100 professions. Kids can learn to fight fires, pilot airplanes, act in plays, design robots, perform surgery, go on secret missions and much more. Kosher Food Hall Triple Five Group says that the food hall will be the first ever strictly kosher food market in a North American retail and entertainment destination. Legoland Discovery Center Lego says this project will be like walking into a giant box of Legos. It is designed specifically for families with children ages three to 10 to play together, offering a fun, interactive and educational two to three-hour indoor experience. There will be a range of play areas, including a 4D cinema, a brick pool, master classes from a model builder, rides, party rooms and a Miniland exhibit designed to reflect the iconic buildings and skyline of the area. Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park The park features more than 20 rides, rollercoasters and attractions. American Dream says it boasts three world-record breaking coasters – the world's steepest roller coaster, tallest and longest spinning coaster, and tallest indoor spinning drop tower, as well as a nine-story ropes course. Guests can expect to encounter their favorite Nickelodeon characters in the park, as well as daily performances on the Nickelodeon Slime Stage.
