The upside to closing on March 14, housekeeping staff and a fleet of deep-cleaning specialists from Servpro spent more than a week thoroughly scouring the River Journey and Ocean Journey buildings. During the closure, maintenance crews also undertook a laundry list of updates and refurbishing projects. This concerted upkeep effort now has the Aquarium looking better than at any other time during its 28-year stint on the riverfront.

To determine how participants in the trade incorporate aquarium species in their livelihoods, we examine source-level aquarium fish collecting and trading data in the Banggai Archipelago, a region in Central Sulawesi that has become a significant source for popular aquarium, also known as ornamental, fish species.
