Woman Tried To Steal Live Lobsters From Aberdeen ShopRite - Patch

ABERDEEN, NJ — A woman tried to walk out of the Aberdeen Lloyd Road ShopRite on July 4 carrying live lobsters that she hadn't paid for, police said.

The 51-year-old Staten Island woman was arrested for shoplifting. The four lobsters were given to her in a bag by an employee under the belief they were to be purchased. The woman walked out of the store with them and was detained by store personnel, police said.

Roderick S. Culkin II, 58, Middletown, was arrested for aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose following an incident on Cliffwood Ave. on June 28. This was an altercation between two co-workers that escalated, police said.

A 23-year-old township woman was arrested for possession of heroin on Beach Drive on July 3.

A 26-year-old Matawan man was arrested on July 3 for theft of jewelry from a South Atlantic Ave. home reported on July 1.

Brendon C. Vatovec, 29, Aberdeen, was arrested for aggravated assault following an incident at Strathmore Gardens on South Atlantic Ave. on July 4.

A 41-year-old township man was charged with disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident on County Rd. on July 4.

David A. Perez III, 24, Matawan, was charged with obstruction of justice, resisting arrest, driving while suspended, and speeding after a motor vehicle stop on Hwy. 35 on July 6. He was also found to be wanted on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court.

On June 10 Dena J. Renna, 42, Aberdeen, was charged with two counts of violation of a court order and possession of a controlled dangerous substance related to an incident at Aberdeen Station apartments, Central Ave.

Other Aberdeen Township police activity during that period included:

Officers responded to or initiated 640 calls for service between June 28 and July 11, 2017, including 42 suspicious persons/vehicles; 40 alarms; 41 first aid calls; 13 domestic violence incidents, one burglary, seven noise complaints, eleven disorderly persons, 19 motor vehicle crashes, eleven thefts, five frauds, two criminal mischief incidents, and 197 motor vehicle stops. Officers issued 175 motor vehicle summonses. Fourteen summonses were issued for violations of park regulations on the beachfront.
