Do Zoo members receive free admission to Zoolightful?

  • There is a discounted admission price for Zoo members to attend Zoolightful. Zoo members receive discounts to Zoo special events, however, this event is not free to members in an effort to keep initial membership costs down. Members always have a choice to attend these after-hours events at a discounted rate.

Do children under 2 years old need a ticket?

  • No. Children 2 and under may attend the event at no cost. All children must be accompanied by a paid adult.

Is daytime Zoo admission included with my ticket to Zoolightful?

  • No. Zoolightful is an after-hours event and not included with daytime Zoo admission. Guests attending the Zoo during the day must exit Zoo grounds before closing at 5 p.m., purchase a separate ticket to participate in Zoolightful activities, and re-enter the Zoo when it opens for the event at 6 p.m.

What Zoo exhibits will be open during the event?

  • The event will include access to the following exhibits, activities, and food areas: Suzanne and Walter Scott Aquarium, Durham Treetops Restaurant, Lozier Giant Screen Theater, Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom Pavilion, Mahoney Kingdoms of the Night and Bay Family Children's Adventure Trails.

What age demographic does this event appeal to?

  • Zoolightful is an experience for the whole family! There are elements of this event that will appeal to all ages.

Can I move my ticket to a new date?

  • Zoolightful general admission ticket purchases can be moved to another date. Please note, there may be limited availability as certain dates may sell out. Please contact Guest Services at 402-733-8401 for assistance with the ticket transfer. Additional fees may also be due if the ticket price is different than the date for which you originally purchased.

If I lost my emailed ticket, what can I do?

  • Please contact Guest Services at 402-733-8401 to receive a new emailed copy of your Zoolightful ticket.

How much is it to rent an igloo?

  • The cost of the igloo depends on the location of the igloo and the date. Please view the igloo pricing calendar above.

What is included with the igloo rental?

  • Peppermint Pines (All ages)
    • 6 Zoolightful admission ticket
    • Themed igloo that seats up to 6, heated and furnished
    • Access to your igloo all night long (Sunday-Wednesday from 6-9 p.m.; Thursday-Saturday from 6-10 p.m.)
    • Exclusive access to Peppermint Pines
    • Private Attendant and bar service
    • Pre-ordered menu offerings
  • Reindeer Game Zone (All ages)
    • 6 Zoolightful admission tickets
    • Igloo that seats up to 6, heated and furnished
    • Access to your igloo all night long (Sunday-Wednesday from 6-9 p.m.; Thursday-Saturday from 6-10 p.m.)
    • S'mores for 6
    • Pre-ordered menu offerings

How long do I have the igloo?

  • The igloos are rented throughout the entirety of the event.

What are your policies for booking an igloo?

  • Booking an Igloo Online:
    • Igloos can be booked online up to 24 hours in advance.
    Booking an Igloo Onsite:
    • If available, day of igloo bookings can only be reserved on site at a kiosk at the Zoo's Main Entrance. This reservation is for 6 admission ticket and igloo rental, but does not include pre-order food options available with online purchases.
      • Three (3) concession and three (3) bar areas are open each night for onsite food and drink purchases. These items can be brought back to your igloo.
      • Limited menu items will be able to be purchased with your igloo. Please speak to your igloo attendant upon arrival.
    Capacity and Reservation Time:
    • Each igloo comfortably seats 6 guests. Maximum capacity for an igloo is 8 guests. If your party is larger than 6 people, additional general admission tickets are required for the maximum 2 additional guests. If available, consider booking another igloo. 
      • Each igloo guest in your party will receive a wristband at check in. No more than 8 wristbands will be given to per igloo rental. All guests must be present at time of check in.
    • Each booking reserves the igloo for for the duration of the event that night. Sunday through Wednesday nights, the booking is from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday nights, the booking is from 6 to 10 p.m.
    • Children ages 2 and under do not count towards your 6 person capacity and do not need a general admission ticket.
    Refunds:
    • Refunds for igloos will not be issued less than 4 days ahead of your booking date.
    Moving your Booking Date:
    • Igloos bookings cannot be moved to a new date less than 24 hours in advance.
    Food and Drink:
    • No outside food and beverages can be brought into Zoolightful or into your igloo. Exceptions can be made for medical dietary requirements. Please contact Guest Services at 402-733-8401 to provide this information about your party.
    • Food and drink add-ons are available for pre-order only and should be included with your online purchase.
    • Food and drink add-ons cannot be added less than 24 hours in advance of your booking date.
    • If you need to add pre-order only food and drink options to an already existing igloo reservation, please contact Guest Services at 402-733-8401. Can only be done more than 24 hours in advance of your booking date.
